While last week's playlist was considered a joyful celebration of spring, this week's playlist can be considered the more sultry and emotional aspects of desire. Part of this seems to reflect the sudden arrival of summer, where on, Wednesday evening, I had the pleasure of walking over the Williamsburg Bridge, blasting Blood Orange's last album. Something about this act of walking to music: to forget everything but experience it all at the same time is what stuck me. The sweat on my back, the breeze, the smell of the sea, the way that shadow and light cast themselves over everyone. And then of course being the one walking: taking in the ability to step away from my problems but being unable to escape the spatial politics of the city.
